A German FIFA World Cup fan known online as FreddyLA7, who deleted his social media account following Germany's loss in the tournament, has been publicly invited to visit the White House. The invitation was extended by Nick Adams, a MAGA influencer and the Special Presidential Envoy for American Tourism, Exceptionalism and Values.
FreddyLA7 said he removed his account after facing bullying for “having a genuinely good time” while touring the United States during the global soccer matches. His account had amassed over 700,000 followers as he traveled across Louisiana and Texas, visiting sports facilities, universities, and the NASA Space Center. He also attended Portugal’s World Cup match against Congo in Houston.
In a statement posted to X, Adams said, “Despite the hateful and angry major Left’s vicious attempts to doxx Freddy, launch personal attacks, and intimidate him into submission, ultimately forcing him to delete his social media accounts to protect his peace and safety, the West Wing visit will still take place.” Adams added that Freddy’s only “crime” was loving America and documenting his travels in a non-partisan way.
When news of FreddyLA7’s account deletion broke, one person commented on X, “Deactivating after a bad loss, the most American thing you can do.” Notably, FreddyLA7’s profile photo was an image of Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese professional soccer player, rather than a personal photo.
