Azzedine Ounahi scored two goals in the second half to help Morocco secure a 3-0 win over Canada in the World Cup Round of 16, ending the cohosts' run in the tournament. This victory makes Morocco the first African nation to reach the quarterfinals more than once, following their historic semifinal appearance in 2022.

Ounahi's second goal came in the 82nd minute with a right-footed shot from the middle of the box after a quick counterattack and a pass from Brahim Díaz. Soufiane Rahimi, who replaced injured forward Ismael Saibari after 22 minutes, added the third goal in stoppage time.

Canada's Tajon Buchanan had a notable attempt from about 30 yards, but his shot was saved by Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.

Morocco's consecutive quarterfinal appearances highlight their growing prominence in the World Cup, while Canada’s journey ended with this defeat.
