Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard, riding for the Visma-Lease a Bike team, took the early lead in the 2026 Tour de France after his team won the opening team time-trial stage held in Barcelona on Saturday.
Slovenian competitor Tadej Pogacar delivered a strong performance during the stage and is aiming to become the fifth cyclist in history to win the Tour de France five times.
The event marks the beginning of this year's prestigious cycling race across Europe.
