ATLANTA, July 7 — Egypt's coach Hossam Hassan declared he will not watch any more matches of the World Cup after his team's heartbreaking elimination by Argentina in the last 16. Egypt had been leading 2-0 with 11 minutes remaining, but conceded three late goals in a Lionel Messi-inspired comeback.

Hassan blamed refereeing decisions for the loss, highlighting a disallowed goal by Mostafa Zico in the 62nd minute after a VAR review found a foul in the buildup. He also mentioned a denied penalty claim following a tug on Hamdy Fathy. "What happened to us wasn't fair. We should have had a penalty, a goal was disallowed, and I don't know why it was disallowed," Hassan said.

Despite the defeat, Hassan praised his players for following the game plan and competing strongly, noting the contributions of goalkeeper Mostafa Shoubir and key players Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush. "Even if the goals came from mistakes, the biggest mistake is not getting what you're entitled to from those responsible for making the decisions," he added.

Hassan expressed his frustration and urged fans not to be upset, saying, "I'm the type of person who hates losing. And when it's a defeat that feels unjust like today's, I can only tell the fans not to be upset. We wanted so much to give them more joy."
