Actor and TV host Mario Lopez has denied supporting President Donald Trump following allegations labeling him a MAGA supporter. According to a Buzzfeed report last month, Lopez deleted an Instagram comment in which he rejected the claim that he supports Trump politically, stating he is "not a political person."
The controversy arose after Lopez commented on a video titled "Exposing Latino MAGA Artists," which cited his past social media activity, including a post supporting a UFC fight held on the White House lawn, and his following of Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and the official POTUS page. The video also referenced a 2016 interview Lopez conducted with Trump for "Extra" during Trump's first presidential campaign.
Lopez further clarified that he did not attend the UFC Freedom 250 fight at the White House, explaining, "I’ve interviewed Trump many times when he was on 'The Apprentice.' And I didn’t attend the White House event. I was in DC shooting a PrimeTime special at the time for CBS celebrating a civics competition for kids."
During the 2016 interview, Lopez described himself as "Latino, happen to also be conservative, a child of Mexican immigrants."
