Matt Damon underwent a dramatic physical transformation for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic film, "The Odyssey," which he attributes to a strict dietary change. The Oscar winner revealed on Amy Poehler's "Good Hang" podcast that he permanently eliminated gluten from his diet after discovering a food sensitivity that had been affecting his health.

Damon described the change as a "complete, complete lifestyle change," highlighting the challenge of "getting jacked in your 50s." He dropped to 167 pounds, his lightest weight in decades, as he prepared for the role. Speaking on Travis and Jason Kelce's "New Heights" podcast, Damon emphasized the intensity of his training and diet, stating, "just put your foot on the gas and that's it. And that's the only way to do it, and eat a little less."

When asked if he still craves gluten, Damon responded, "No, because of what it does to me … I didn't know."

This dietary shift not only supported his physical transformation but also significantly improved his overall well-being during the demanding preparation for "The Odyssey."
