The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) concluded a two-day summit in Turkiye by pledging €70 billion ($80 billion) in military equipment, assistance, and training for Ukraine in 2026, with commitments to maintain at least equivalent support levels in 2027. This announcement underscores NATO's united stance in supporting Ukraine's defense of its freedom, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy participated in the summit in Ankara, engaging with leaders from all 32 NATO member states and meeting with former United States President Donald Trump. Trump expressed optimism about the prospects for a future peace deal, describing Russian President Vladimir Putin as "a difficult character" and similarly referring to Zelenskyy.
Meanwhile, Kharkiv Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported an increase in wounded Ukrainians from Russian attacks in the Nemyshlianskyi district, with the number rising to 34.
The summit also took place amid ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine, which have resulted in casualties.
