President Donald Trump, speaking at Mount Rushmore National Memorial on July 3, 2026, reiterated a firm stance against communism ahead of America's 250th anniversary. He declared, “America will never be a communist country,” and vowed that U.S. citizens will “vanquish communism quickly.”

The Trump administration has taken significant steps regarding Venezuela, where the Venezuelan Chavismo regime has violated agreements with the U.S. and the international community for over 25 years. These violations included widespread detention, torture, murders, electoral fraud, and repression. Notably, the regime stole the electoral victory of opposition candidate Edmundo González despite clear evidence of his win.

On July 3, President Trump ordered Operation Absolute Resolve, which successfully captured and extracted Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro, exposing the regime's vulnerabilities. Despite these achievements, some critics question the administration's strategy, suggesting the U.S. may be inadvertently empowering remnants of the communist regime in Caracas.

Economically, the U.S. cut off oil supplies to Cuba, increased oil production to an estimated 1.2 million barrels per day, and restored relations with the International Monetary Fund and other financial institutions.

In response to the Chavista military's inefficiency in managing post-earthquake crises, over 2,000 U.S. troops are currently in Venezuela. They are coordinating humanitarian aid delivery and assisting with security operations.

These actions underscore the U.S. position that rebuilding Venezuela must not rely on the old dictatorial structures.
