The United States has conducted strikes on Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) small boats and other targets within Iran. This military action was taken in response to attacks on three oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.
A fire was recorded burning in Bandar Abbas, Iran, following the strikes, which the US Central Command (CentCom) described as "powerful." Iranian state media reported that the strikes impacted locations including Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, and Sirik.
In reaction to the US strikes, Iran's deputy foreign minister condemned the attacks as a violation of the US-Iran memorandum signed the previous month and warned that Tehran would "take decisive measures."
