Israel has shared intelligence with the United States this week regarding a new and "specific" plan by Iran to assassinate former US President Donald Trump, according to multiple US media reports on July 10, 2026.

The intelligence, described as a "fresh" plot by sources cited in the Wall Street Journal, comes amid renewed US-Iran tensions and follows Trump's unusual decision to switch planes when departing Turkey after the NATO summit in Ankara. The New York Times reported that this switch was made at the request of the US Secret Service as a security precaution.

CNN reported that Washington has monitored a "steady drumbeat" of intelligence about possible assassination plans against Trump, but the warning from Israel was new and concerned a specific plot. Trump himself acknowledged the threat, stating aboard Air Force One, "I saw this morning I’m on every single one of their lists."

The reports arrive as fears of a return to all-out war between the US and Iran have intensified, especially after fresh US strikes against Iran, which shares a border with Turkey. Tehran has long vowed retaliation against Trump for ordering the assassination of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani in January 2020.

When contacted about the reports, an unidentified White House official referred to Trump’s recent remarks.
