Haeran Ryu of South Korea delivered a historic performance on July 11, 2026, at the Amundi Evian Championship held at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France. The 25-year-old golfer shot an 11-under 60 in the third round, setting the lowest round ever recorded in an LPGA major tournament. This remarkable round gave Ryu a three-stroke lead going into the final day of the competition.
Ryu's achievement comes just two weeks after she won her first major title at the Women’s PGA Championship. During the third round at Evian, she narrowly missed a 30-foot eagle putt on the 18th hole, settling instead for a birdie.
Reflecting on her performance, Ryu said, "But after the putt and I counted my score with my caddie," she realized the significance of her round. She added, "Oh my God, it’s 11-under par today. It was so amazing. My caddie says, ‘Yep.’ I’m so happy right now. So I just want that one to come true, but we have one more day."
Photographs from the event captured Ryu celebrating birdies and interacting with fellow competitor Lottie Woad of England on the 18th green.
