A man in his 60s was found unresponsive on South Terrace, near Douglas Street in Fremantle, shortly after 2am on July 11, 2026. The location is just a few hundred metres from Fremantle's well-known cafe and nightlife strip, approximately 25 kilometres south-west of the Perth CBD.
The man was transported to Fiona Stanley Hospital but could not be saved. Following the incident, police arrested two men, both in their twenties, at the scene. They are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
Authorities cordoned off the area on Saturday morning as investigations continued. Police have urged any witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers, with reports able to be made anonymously.
