On Sunday, July 12th, 2026, the US military announced a new wave of attacks against Iran following renewed fighting over the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Several of Washington's Gulf allies were targeted by incoming fire, with more than 10 projectiles striking Iran's Gulf island of Qeshm, according to Iranian state media.
