Freddy, the German soccer fan who captured the attention of American social media users during the FIFA World Cup 2026, has made a dramatic return to the platform X from Clemson, South Carolina. After being doxxed on Reddit and facing harassment that forced him off X for two weeks, Freddy announced on Monday, July 13, 2026, that he would document the final part of his American road trip.

Freddy, who amassed 750,000 followers on X, shared that despite the challenges, his story of discovering the positive aspects of the United States is genuine. "For some people, it’s unfortunately unfathomable that a good story can exist without some kind of hidden agenda behind it," he wrote. He also noted that while this was not his first visit to the U.S., it was his first time visiting Ohio.

During his trip, Freddy has explored various locations including small-town Alabama, off-the-beaten-path Ohio, and South Carolina. On Sunday, July 12, 2026, he documented stops at a Wendy's in Augusta, Georgia, traveled through a downpour in McCormick County, South Carolina, and visited Clemson University, where he and his crew toured the football and baseball fields.

Freddy expressed gratitude for the positive messages he received on Instagram over the past two weeks, saying, "Some people even told me that their grandparents regularly ask them, 'What are the Germans up to today?'"

Nick Adams, Special Presidential Envoy for American Tourism, Exceptionalism and Values, appointed by former President Trump, commented to Fox News Digital on Freddy's return, highlighting the significance of his story.

Freddy’s return comes as the FIFA World Cup 2026 semifinals were set to take place on Tuesday and Wednesday following Germany's earlier loss to Paraguay in the Round of 32 on June 29, 2026.
