Opposition leader Angus Taylor has firmly ruled out forming a coalition with Pauline Hanson's One Nation party, reiterating his criticism of their policies.

"There is no plan to form any kind of coalition with One Nation," Taylor said, emphasizing that the current Coalition with the National party will remain unchanged. He warned that One Nation’s policies would lead Australia to economic ruin, stating, "One Nation would, as a government, leave us with an eternity of pain."

Taylor expressed his goal to remove the Albanese Government from power, citing an economic crisis marked by higher taxes and declining prospects for young Australians to own homes. "There is a plan to do is to get rid of a Labor government that has put us into an economic crisis where Australians are poorer, where taxes are higher ... and young Australians are losing hope of owning a home," he said.

Pressed on affordability, Taylor said he would focus on curbing government spending on large companies, climate initiatives, and housing. "Affordability is worth spending a moment on because it's what counts," he told the program 7.30.

Taylor’s remarks come amid a recent resurgence in One Nation’s polling. Despite his strong criticism, he acknowledged his comments were made "with a heavy heart."

To achieve his political goals, Taylor noted the Coalition must recover from its worst election defeat in 70 years, which occurred under Peter Dutton's leadership.
