Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport in Lanzhou, northwestern Gansu province, has won widespread acclaim on social media for its care of three homeless civet cats. The airport has designated a special area where passengers can see and interact with the cats, who have become a beloved feature of the terminal.

The feline family consists of Sangbiao the father, Cuihua the mother, and their daughter Cuiguo, who was born in June, according to news portal The Cover. This cat shelter, located near boarding gate 58 and nicknamed the airport’s "mouse control office," is equipped with a fresh air system, a water dispenser, and a cat climbing frame.

Airport staff are assigned to care for the cats and regularly take them on patrols around the premises to fulfill their role in catching mice. The airport also shares regular updates on social media about the daily lives of these feline members, delighting many passengers who often take photos and engage with the cats through the glass.

The initiative has been praised for its warmth and has won massive applause online, highlighting a unique blend of animal welfare and practical pest control at a busy transportation hub.
