Cody Bellinger, a player for the New York Yankees, was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) at Major League Baseball’s 2026 All-Star Game held on Tuesday, July 15th, 2026. His father, former big leaguer Clay Bellinger, attended the event, and his young daughters sat beside him as he spoke about the achievement.

Bellinger’s two-run single in the first inning off Cristopher Sanchez helped the American League secure a 4-0 victory. Former Yankee Clay Bellinger remarked, “Just being able to hang out and watching him win an award, it’s pretty cool.”

Heading into the All-Star break, Bellinger’s batting average had dropped to .254 after a slump, down from .280 in mid-June. He became the fourth Yankees player to win the All-Star Game MVP, joining Derek Jeter (2000), Mariano Rivera (2013), and Giancarlo Stanton (2022).

Earlier in his career, Bellinger hit 47 home runs in 2019 and was voted the National League MVP after making his second All-Star team.
