Donald Trump has officially endorsed Mike Lindell, the MyPillow founder, in his campaign for Minnesota governor. In a Truth Social post on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, Trump called Lindell “one of America’s greatest and most hard working Patriots” and praised his sacrifices "in fighting for our country, especially when it comes to Election Integrity," referencing Lindell’s promotion of disputed claims about the 2020 election.

Trump expressed confidence that Lindell “will MAKE MINNESOTA GREAT AGAIN” and offered full support ahead of the state’s Republican primary scheduled for Tuesday, August 11, 2026, with early voting already underway.

Despite Trump’s endorsement, Lindell trails in general election polling. A June poll by Star Tribune/KARE 11/Hubbard School Minnesota showed Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar leading Lindell 53% to 36% in a hypothetical matchup, with 11% undecided. Klobuchar also leads other Republican contenders, including the party-endorsed Kendall Qualls and Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth.

The Republican primary field includes Kendall Qualls and Lisa Demuth, who secured the party’s endorsement in May, as well as 2022 nominee Scott Jensen and state representative Peggy Bennett, among others.

The governor’s seat is open following incumbent Tim Walz’s decision not to seek a third term. Walz is the Democratic-Farmer-Labor incumbent and was the 2024 Democratic vice-presidential nominee.

Lindell, born in Minnesota and the founder of MyPillow, spent several years registered to vote in Texas and last year described himself in a court filing as a Texas citizen.
