Delivery Hero confirmed on July 14 that it was in advanced negotiations with Uber regarding a potential takeover offer. The acquisition would expand Uber Eats' food delivery network across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America, as Delivery Hero holds a market value near €11.6 billion.

The deal could be announced as early as Thursday, July 16, 2026, with Uber expected to pay roughly €41 per share. However, terms and timing remain subject to change.

To address potential antitrust concerns stemming from overlapping operations, Delivery Hero plans to divest parts of its business, including selling its Turkish unit Yemeksepeti and several European operations to an investment firm.

Uber initially approached Delivery Hero in May 2026 with a €38 per share offer, which investors considered too low. Both companies have not immediately responded to requests for comment.
