This consensus emerged during a panel discussion at the Nikkei Asia Forum APAC 2026 held in Bangkok on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Participants included Masanori Yoshida, senior executive officer and global chief at Japan Exchange Group; Asadej Kongsiri, president of the Stock Exchange of Thailand; and Michael Syn, president of Singapore Exchange (SGX). The SGX president noted that "cross-border cooperation expands the pie for all," underscoring the mutual benefits of regional integration.
The forum emphasized that stronger connectivity among Asian exchanges is essential to capturing capital inflows amid a competitive global investment landscape.
