A recent poll conducted by the Pew Research Center and released on Wednesday, July 15th, 2026, found that more people globally have favorable views of China than the United States. This sentiment was observed in 25 out of 36 countries and territories surveyed, including North American neighbors Canada and Mexico.
Additionally, the poll revealed that Chinese leader Xi Jinping is viewed more favorably than former US President Donald Trump in 22 of the countries and territories surveyed.
These findings highlight shifting global perceptions of the two nations and their leaders.
