Kai Trump, granddaughter of President Donald Trump and a freshman collegiate golfer for the Miami Hurricanes, addressed the audience at the ESPYs on Wednesday, July 16, 2026, sharing insights about her video blog and her approach to life.
Trump highlighted her intent to showcase how one can balance athletics with other interests. "I just like showing my life and showing how you can still be an athlete and you can still do a ton of other things and enjoy a ton of other things," she said. She expressed a desire to inspire younger generations by documenting her progress through college and reflecting on her journey so far.
When questioned about the intersection of politics and sports, Kai Trump reiterated her decision to avoid political involvement, stating, "Honestly, I kind of stay out of politics completely. It’s just not my thing."
She also commented positively on a recent UFC event held at the White House, appreciating the presence of veterans and the patriotic atmosphere. "But I think the UFC event was great and it was really cool being there and especially having veterans in the stadium as well, that’s where you can kinda combine the (America) 250 point of view on it. But I thought it was great."
Kai Trump is one of two freshmen on the Miami Hurricanes golf team, alongside Bella Dovhey. She has also been seen attending golf matches with her mother, Vanessa Trump, such as the March 17, 2026, match between Jupiter Links GC and Boston Common Golf in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
