Nevada Lt. Gov. Stavros Anthony envisions space tourism as a promising new industry for the Silver State, leveraging the state's vast open land and the business interests of entrepreneur Elon Musk.

Anthony, who has served alongside Governor Joe Lombardo since 2022 and previously ran for mayor of Las Vegas, shared his vision during an interview with Fox News Digital at FreedomFest in Las Vegas. He stated, "One thing that is of interest is space tourism. I think that might be a future here in Nevada because we have a lot of open land where… somebody like Elon Musk can shoot rockets up into outer space, hang out up there for a while, have some drinks. Hang out with friends."

The Lt. Governor praised Nevada’s business environment and expressed optimism about the state's future in sports, entertainment, and space tourism. He also noted that the Lombardo/Anthony ticket was the only Republican ticket in the U.S. to defeat an incumbent Democratic governor and lieutenant governor.

President Donald Trump has endorsed both Governor Lombardo and Lt. Gov. Anthony, highlighting his support during a recent visit to Nevada where he discussed tax policies important to the state.

Anthony’s background includes nearly three decades in law enforcement, service as a regent in Nevada’s higher education system, and a long tenure as a Las Vegas city councilman.
