Washington state voters will have the opportunity this November to decide whether to repeal the recently enacted "millionaire’s tax," a high-earner income tax applied to households earning more than $1 million per year.
A spokesperson for Secretary of State Steve Hobbs confirmed to the Seattle Times on Wednesday, July 16, 2026, that Initiative 645, which seeks to repeal this tax, has received enough signatures to qualify for the ballot.
This development means the fate of the tax will be determined directly by voters in the upcoming election.
