Bangladesh's foreign exchange reserves have risen back to levels last seen in 2022, marking a significant recovery in the country's external finances after years of pressure. This improvement is attributed to higher remittance inflows, particularly from Saudi Arabia and other regions. Bangladeshi officials are optimistic that the recent reopening of Malaysia to migrant workers from Bangladesh will further enhance remittance inflows, providing an additional boost to the nation's forex reserves.

Bangladeshi migrant workers were observed at a dormitory in Klang, Malaysia, earlier this year in January, highlighting the importance of Malaysia as a destination for labor migration. The reopening is expected to sustain and increase the flow of remittances, which play a crucial role in Bangladesh's economic stability.

This development reflects a broader recovery in Bangladesh's external financial position, supported by remittances from multiple countries in Asia.
