A video released by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shows Kaitlyn Tracey, a 33-year-old Canadian woman accused of overstaying her visa, allegedly slapping a teenage girl on a New Jersey boardwalk. The incident occurred after Tracey confronted the teen and her friends, who were wearing clothing displaying the words "Trump" and "ICE."

The Department of Homeland Security shared the video on Thursday, referring to Tracey as a "Maple Leaf Menace" and confirmed she is currently in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody pending removal proceedings. DHS stated, "This illegal alien who assaulted a teenager has no business being in our country."

According to a DHS spokesperson, Tracey entered the United States on April 14, 2024, on a visa that expired in September 2024 and failed to depart. The probable cause affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital reports that the victim told police she and three friends were walking along the boardwalk when Tracey began verbally berating the group over their clothing before allegedly slapping the teen.

Tracey was arrested on assault and child endangerment charges in Ocean County, New Jersey. Court records indicate she is scheduled to appear in Ocean County Superior Court on August 4, 2026.

A man identifying himself on social media as Tracey's husband, Matthew Geroni, disputed the allegations in an interview with NJ.com, stating the incident has been "blown out of proportion" and that Tracey "does not belong in any facility."
