Cori Bush, an ousted member of the progressive "Squad" and candidate for Missouri’s 1st Congressional District, is campaigning with Christopher Winston, a self-described Maoist activist and political organizer. Winston, who operates under the pseudonym "BlackRedGuard," has posted videos and social media content urging leftists not to disavow Hamas or Hezbollah, calling to "unmake" America, applauding the burning of the American flag, and endorsing political violence.

A Fox News Digital review of Winston's social media found posts praising Bush, including a 2023 message where Winston said, "Yeah, I’m a Maoist ultra with dreams of riding into power on a tank like Fidel and Che but in the meantime Cori Bush is the best congressperson right now and we need to back her."

In one video reviewed by Fox News Digital, Winston asked, "What’s wrong with throwing molotovs at a police station?" His rhetoric has included attacking leftists who do not support Hamas or Hezbollah.

Bush appeared in a recent social media post standing beside Winston as he supported her campaign.

Earlier in 2026, Fox News Digital reported that Bush’s comeback campaign paid over $20,000 to "Unbought Power," a consulting firm linked to far-left activist Rasha Mubarak. Mubarak has ties to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), an organization described by the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy as an unindicted co-conspirator in a 2009 terror-financing trial. Mubarak has publicly called to "abolish the police," supported defund-the-police efforts, and accused Israel of "ethnic cleansing" and "apartheid."

During Bush's 2024 re-election bid, a virtual fundraiser titled "Jews for Cori" was headlined by Linda Sarsour and Marc Lamont Hill, both described by Jewish Insider as controversial far-left activists with histories of antisemitism.
