In a groundbreaking event held on Saturday, July 18th, 2026, two humanoid robots engaged in a mixed martial arts (MMA) fight in Shenzhen, China, leaving spectators and social media users stunned when one robot lost its head during the bout.

The event, known as the Ultimate Robot Knock-out Legend (URKL), was the first of its kind and featured two identical T800 robots—the same model as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character in the original Terminator film—competing in a specially designed hexagonal cage at the Nanshan Cultural and Sports Centre.

Among the audience was Donnie Yen Ji-dan, the 62-year-old martial arts actor famous for his role in the Ip Man films. Yen described the robots’ "sheer power and precision movements" as incredible and remarked, “I only saw robot combat in science fiction movies previously. Today, seeing real robots fighting and competing up close, witnessing this historic breakthrough first-hand, the impact was completely different.”
