Ukrainian drone attacks in western Russia have resulted in at least eight deaths and dozens of injuries, according to local officials, as the conflict between Ukraine and Russia continues.

Tambov Governor Evgeniy Pervyshov reported that a drone strike on Kotovsk hit a warehouse owned by Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer. The attack wounded 25 people, including one in critical condition and six seriously injured, mostly from shrapnel. He also noted that 28 drones had been intercepted, suggesting that casualties could have been higher if the drones had reached their targets.

In a separate attack in Elektrostal, a city in the western Moscow region, another Wildberries warehouse was struck. Governor Andrei Vorobyov stated on Telegram that this strike killed at least one person and wounded 37 others.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy posted on social media that the two Wildberries warehouses were “significant logistics facilities” used to “ensure the supply of sanctioned components for the production of drones and navigation equipment.”

These attacks come amid ongoing exchanges of strikes between Ukraine and Russia.
