On Sunday, July 19th, 2026, Kuwait and Bahrain reported several rounds of missile and drone attacks launched by Iran, with sirens reportedly sounding in Jordan. Kuwaiti authorities confirmed that one of the attacks caused a fire at a power and water plant.

Iran’s military stated that one of its strikes targeted a US ammunition depot at Camp al-Adiri and air defense radars at Ali Al Salem airbase in Kuwait, which hosts US personnel. The attacks come after a series of overnight US strikes on Iran, which Washington said were intended to "punish" the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces responsible for earlier attacks in Jordan that killed two US service members.

The US strikes reportedly hit areas in Iran’s Hormozgan and Khuzestan provinces, as well as Qeshm Island. Iran claimed to have stopped two ships in the Strait of Hormuz amid these hostilities.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy condemned the attacks as "heinous Iranian aggression," while Bahrain’s military said its air defenses thwarted "treacherous" Iranian attacks.

This escalation marks a significant intensification of conflict in the Gulf region involving Iran, US forces, and their Gulf allies.
