Mel Gibson's longtime collaborator, screenwriter Randall Wallace, revealed that the two-time Oscar winner warned him about spiritual challenges before they began writing the sequel to "The Passion of the Christ." Wallace recounted that Gibson told him, "Satan's going to come after you" prior to their work on "The Resurrection of the Christ."

Wallace, 76, who previously worked with Gibson on films including 1995's "Braveheart," 2002's "We Were Soldiers," and 2016's "Hacksaw Ridge," co-wrote the screenplay for "The Resurrection of the Christ" alongside Gibson and his brother Donal Gibson. He shared that he approached Gibson with the idea for the Resurrection story while they were promoting "Hacksaw Ridge," saying, "I didn't have anything to do with ‘The Passion of the Christ.’ When we were promoting ‘Hacksaw Ridge,’ we were sitting there talking about our lives, and I said, ‘Look, you know, the story that you really need to tell is the Resurrection.’"

During a recent appearance on Fox News contributor Raymond Arroyo's podcast "Arroyo Grande," Wallace recalled urging Gibson to tell the Resurrection story following the massive success of "The Passion of the Christ."

"The Resurrection of the Christ: Part One" is scheduled for release on May 6, 2027, coinciding with Ascension Day, the Christian holiday commemorating Jesus Christ’s ascent into heaven 40 days after Easter Sunday.

Separately, Fox News contributor Raymond Arroyo has also addressed other topics, including calling out perceived threats to democracy in Los Angeles and discussing a musical related to accused United Healthcare CEO killer Luigi Mangione on "The Ingraham Angle."
