Andrew and Tristan Tate, dual British-US citizens, appeared in a US court on Monday, July 20th, 2026, as part of extradition proceedings following their arrest the previous Saturday near a venue where Andrew Tate was scheduled to co-host a bare-knuckle fighting event.

The UK announced dozens of new charges against the brothers, including rape and sex trafficking, all of which they deny. Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the Special Crime Division at the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), stated these charges "followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police," increasing the total number of alleged victims in the case to seven.

In addition to UK charges, the Tate brothers face accusations in Romania of human trafficking and forming an organised group to sexually exploit women. The pair have been residing in the US since 2025 after Romanian prosecutors lifted a travel ban against them, though they remain required to check in with Romanian authorities as legal procedures continue.

In the US, they are also involved in a civil case brought by a woman alleging coercion into sex work and defamation after she testified to Romanian authorities.

Andrew Tate, known for his self-proclaimed "misogynist" stance, gained viral attention on social media for showcasing extreme wealth and hyper-masculinity. He was previously banned from social media platforms due to controversial remarks suggesting women should "bear responsibility" for being sexually assaulted but has since been reinstated.

The Tate brothers continue to deny all charges.
