Prinstein, who referred to himself as "The Baseball Spy" on social media, recorded the Rockies' coaches in broad daylight from the designated scout section. The incident reportedly led to his dismissal by the Angels.

The Colorado Rockies, a struggling franchise, were the subject of Prinstein's recordings, which some suggest may have been more detrimental than beneficial to the Angels.
