Mark Lamb, the Sheriff of Pinal County, Arizona, won the GOP primary on Tuesday evening, July 22, 2026, to fill the congressional seat of outgoing Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) in the state’s 5th congressional district. Lamb’s victory positions him strongly to win the general election in November, as the district has historically leaned heavily Republican and became even more so following Arizona’s 2022 redistricting.

Lamb, who secured the backing of former President Donald Trump, has campaigned on protecting the cultural fabric of the country, emphasizing themes of "God, family freedom." In a campaign video, he stated, "We gotta make sure our grandchildren and our great-grandchildren have the same freedoms that we have."

He has criticized the current administration’s immigration policies, saying, "The Joe Biden administration came in, and immediately, overnight, we started seeing hundreds of thousands of people — the majority of these men were military-age men from all over the world. Many of them didn’t love America," and added, "We stood by as our government not only allowed them to come in but rolled out the red carpet for people that broke our law."

Lamb has expressed his commitment to serving Arizona, saying, "I have been honored to serve Arizona at the state and federal levels and will bring my experience home to my native state to help fulfill its tremendous capacity." He also remarked, "Arizona has a bright future, but we will need strong leadership to reach its full potential."

Despite allegations shadowing his campaign, Lamb’s wife, Janel Lamb, responded to criticism on social media, stating, "After all we’ve been through, a massive smear campaign is certainly not going to stop us from doing what we know is right."

During the campaign, Lamb spoke at events such as the Republican Senate candidate Jim Lamons’ town hall at the Combs Performing Art Center in San Tan Valley, Arizona.

The seat Lamb is contesting has been held by Andy Biggs, a prominent GOP figure who has appeared at events like Turning Point USA at Dream City Church in Phoenix.
