On Thursday, July 24th, 2026, veteran Democratic strategist James Carville sharply criticized far-left members of the Democratic Party during his "Politics War Room" podcast. Carville warned that democratic socialists within the party value Soviet dictator Vladimir Lenin more than American civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. He condemned these far-left politicians as paternalistic and described them as "a bunch of overeducated little White turds who think they know more than other people know, and they know what's wrong."
Carville also paraphrased an unnamed Democratic politician who suggested that even Black American leaders are part of American imperialism, a claim Carville dismissed sarcastically by highlighting the absurdity of labeling civil rights icons like John Lewis and Martin Luther King Jr. as puppets of such a system.
He cautioned voters, especially Black voters and centrist liberals, to view these far-left politicians with "major, extreme skepticism," arguing that they believe they know what's better for others more than those individuals themselves.
Carville has long warned the Democratic Party to distance itself from far-left culture-war politics. He further criticized the limited impact of far-left movements, stating, "The only movement they got is a f---ing bowel movement."
Among the far-left proposals Carville referenced were calls for an immediate end to all deportations, free migration without restrictive controls, and extending full voting rights to people with criminal convictions and noncitizens.
