Malaysian actress Lydia Ibtisam died on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at about 4pm following complications from an autoimmune disease. She was 45 years old.
Lydia was best known for her starring role in the 2004 interactive drama series Impian Illyana. In addition to acting, she also released songs during her lifetime.
Her death came a day after singer Elliza Razak, a friend of Lydia's, posted on social media asking fans to pray for her while she was in critical condition. According to Elliza, Lydia had been battling the autoimmune disease for eight years, during which her internal organs were "being attacked." Lydia's husband told Malaysian news outlet Harian Metro that the disease had affected her kidneys and that viruses were present in her stomach, lungs, and blood.
Lydia underwent surgery on Monday, July 20, and remained in critical condition until her passing on Thursday. On the morning of Friday, July 24, Elliza shared that Lydia had been laid to rest in George Town, Penang.
