Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to travel to Washington, D.C., next week to meet with former U.S. President Donald Trump and attend the memorial service for the late Senator Lindsey Graham.

According to Netanyahu's office, he will depart Israel on Monday, July 27, 2026, and meet with Trump the following day. Memorial events for Graham will be held on Tuesday, July 28, in Washington, D.C., and on Wednesday, July 29, in Columbia and Pickens County, South Carolina.

Graham’s communications director confirmed last week that the late senator's "life and legacy" will be commemorated at these events. Netanyahu, in a tribute posted on X, described Graham as "a great friend of Israel and a cherished friend of mine," emphasizing their close relationship and Graham's understanding that the security of Israel and America are inseparable.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee praised Graham's steadfast support for the U.S.-Israel alliance, highlighting that anyone who seeks to destroy Israel ultimately threatens America, citing Iranian proxies as an example. This partnership is rooted in shared Judeo-Christian values.

Meanwhile, military actions continue in the region. The U.S. Central Command has conducted repeated airstrikes against Iranian military targets, while the Israel Defense Forces reported pushing back provocations from Hezbollah, an Iran-backed group based in Lebanon.

Netanyahu’s visit and participation in Graham’s memorial come at a time of heightened U.S.-Israel cooperation on security matters.
