Two individuals were found shot to death inside a vehicle on the University of Chicago campus on Thursday, July 24th, 2026. The victims, a 27-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, were discovered on the 5900 block of South Ellis near Midway Plaisance Ice Skating Rink and Harper Quad at approximately 5:35 p.m., according to police reports cited by NBC 5 Chicago.

Both victims suffered gunshot wounds to the head and were pronounced dead at the scene. Video footage showed the vehicle was damaged and appeared to have crashed either during or after the shooting. Authorities recovered a firearm from the scene.

The incident remains under investigation, and officials have not confirmed further details at this time.
