Cape Verde’s 40-year-old goalkeeper, Vozinha, who made global headlines for his standout performance in the goalless draw against Spain at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, has agreed to join Chilean club Colo Colo.

Colo Colo’s president, Anibal Mosa, announced on Saturday, July 26, 2026, that Vozinha will travel to Chile in the coming days to undergo medical examinations before being officially presented at the Estadio Monumental.

Previously playing for Portuguese second-tier side Chaves, Vozinha was voted into FIFA’s fan-selected World Cup dream team, highlighting his exceptional contributions during Cape Verde’s historic tournament run.

The goalkeeper also drew attention off the field when he revealed that his mother, Ana Candida Evora, was initially unable to attend the World Cup due to visa bond payment costs for the US. She was later granted a visa with all travel fees waived after intervention by US House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries.
