Israeli settlers set fire to Al-Rahma Mosque in Qusra, near Nablus, and targeted other mosques, cars, and agricultural land in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian officials reported on Sunday, July 26th, 2026. The attacks followed a violent confrontation near the village of Tal two days earlier, which resulted in the deaths of four Palestinians and two Israelis.

The mayor of Qusra stated that settlers set fire to a mosque under construction and spray-painted graffiti including the word "revenge" on its walls, according to Abdul Azim Wadi. Palestinian reports also described vandalism, theft, and hate graffiti in two West Bank villages overnight.

The Israeli military confirmed that troops were deployed to Qusra and that police would investigate and collect evidence related to the incidents. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered a military crackdown following the shooting in Tal and vowed to take action.

Since the start of the Gaza war, 41 Israelis, including civilians and security personnel, have been killed in Palestinian attacks or during Israeli military operations in the West Bank. Israel has established hundreds of settlements housing approximately 700,000 Jews in the West Bank and East Jerusalem—territories Palestinians seek for a future state alongside Gaza.

Tensions in the West Bank have been rising amid increasing violence by extremist settlers against Palestinians, reportedly encouraged by far-right elements within the Israeli government.
