Kazuyoshi Miura, affectionately known as “King Kazu,” made headlines on Saturday, July 26th, 2026, by scoring his first competitive goal in nearly four years. At 59 years old, Miura is recognized as the world’s oldest professional footballer.

Playing for Fukushima United in Japan’s J-League third division, Miura scored in the 52nd minute during a dominant 7-0 win against Iwaki Furukawa. This victory allowed Fukushima United to advance in the Emperor’s Cup.
