Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in the United Kingdom on Monday, July 27th, 2026, for talks with new Prime Minister Andy Burnham. The discussions focus on Britain's offer of fresh assistance to help Kyiv breach Russian air defences.

Zelensky highlighted the priorities as air defence, maritime security, and joint defence production, stating on social media that "over the years of the full-scale war, we have built the strongest relationship in the entire history of cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom."

The UK is expected to grant Ukraine rights to produce the "Stone Cloak" device, which reportedly disrupts Russian air-defence systems from tracking and targeting drones. Officials also said Burnham will emphasize continued British support for Ukraine against Russia's invasion during the talks.

This visit precedes Zelensky's planned meeting with US President Donald Trump, scheduled for Tuesday, July 28th, 2026, where Zelensky aims to seek additional support to strengthen Ukraine's air defences against Russian strikes. Discussions are also expected to cover sanctions on Russia and plans to allow Ukraine to produce Patriot air-defence missiles under licence.
