Social media influencers and brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate will remain in a United States federal jail in Miami for at least two more weeks as their bail request is reviewed. The brothers face a combined total of 59 criminal charges in the UK, including rape and sex trafficking, and are currently fighting extradition.

On Monday, Magistrate Lauren Louis scheduled a hearing for August 13, 2026, to determine whether the Tates will be released from custody while UK authorities compile evidence and submit their extradition request.

Their lawyer, Joseph McBride, expressed concern for their safety in prison, stating that as accused child-sex offenders, the brothers have a “target on their backs” and that “the public is greenlighting for them to get murdered in jail.”

Andrew Tate has publicly claimed he lacks access to clean drinking water in jail, alleging violations of his human rights. He has also been known for making controversial statements, including identifying as a proud misogynist and asserting that women are the property of men and bear some responsibility for sexual assault.

Earlier this month, 38 new charges were announced against the brothers, covering rape, trafficking for sexual exploitation, and offenses related to indecent images of a child and major pornography.

The White House has stated it will not block the Tate brothers’ extradition to the UK.

The conditions the brothers face in Miami jail contrast sharply with the luxury lifestyle they previously displayed.
