Bader, who has been limited to just 30 games this season due to injury, was already battling plantar fasciitis for the second time in his Major League Baseball career.

Currently, Bader is preparing for an MRI to assess the extent of the new injury. This latest setback comes amid a challenging season where Bader has struggled at the plate, hitting just .170 with a .198 on-base percentage and a .358 slugging percentage.

Bader's professional career includes time with several MLB teams, including the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Yankees, Cincinnati Reds, New York Mets, Minnesota Twins, and Philadelphia Phillies before joining the Giants. Notably, his history with scooters has been problematic; while playing for the University of Florida in 2014, he was suspended for 19 games after drunkenly crashing a scooter into a parked truck.

In recent games, the Giants were defeated 5-3 by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Bader was last seen on the field during an MLB game at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona, on May 19, 2026, and notably hit a grand slam against the Chicago White Sox on May 23, 2026, at Oracle Park in San Francisco.
