President Donald Trump delivered a eulogy for the late South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham on Tuesday, July 28th, 2026, at the Cathedral Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul in Washington, D.C. Trump emphasized Graham’s strong belief in American power and his hawkish approach to foreign policy, stating, "He was EXTREMELY hawkish, I will tell you." He added, "Only his true friends would understand, but he wanted it for the good of our country."

Trump reflected on Graham’s dedication, noting that his conviction drove him to serve 33 years in the Air Force and continue his military career in the Air Force Reserves and Air National Guard while also serving in the Senate. "He did it for the good of our country; he felt in his bones that our destiny is to win," Trump said.
