Sarah Spain, known for her outspoken commentary on women's sports, recently used her "Good Game" podcast to criticize Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham. Spain dismissed Cunningham's documented felony stalking case as complaining, sparking controversy.

Cunningham has publicly expressed concerns about protecting young girls in sports from competing against biological men, stating, "I think that I am here to extend love, but I also think that with love is truth, being honest, and I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport, who shouldn’t have to go against biological men."

An Indianapolis man was charged with felony stalking, intimidation, and misdemeanor harassment after prosecutors alleged he targeted Cunningham over an extended period. Court filings reviewed by OutKick and Fox News Digital revealed the man allegedly hand-delivered a package to Cunningham at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Marion County, Indiana.

Despite the serious nature of the stalking charges, Spain questioned the severity of Cunningham's complaints and argued that threats against women in sports are experienced differently, suggesting that leadership roles in women's sports require unique considerations due to "the intersectionality of women’s sports," the relationship between female players and leadership, and the negative media coverage surrounding the league.

Spain often refers to the NBA as the "MNBA," emphasizing that the WNBA is not a secondary league despite the "W" prefix. However, critics note that her respect for women appears to wane when discussing those who disagree with her politically.
