The European Commission announced on Friday, July 31, 2026, that it has charged Chinese e-commerce company Temu for not cooperating properly during a raid on its European headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, which took place in December 2025. The inspection, conducted between December 2 and 5, was part of an investigation into whether Temu benefited from distorting foreign subsidies.

In a statement, the Commission said, "The Commission preliminarily finds that Temu has infringed its duty to actively cooperate on multiple aspects related to the conduct of the inspection."

The raid targeted the office of Temu, a unit of PPD Holdings based in Dublin. The European Commission is probing the company’s potential misuse of foreign subsidies, which could have distorted competition within the European market.

Temu’s lack of cooperation during the inspection has led to formal charges, marking a significant development in the ongoing investigation.
