Israeli forces conducted strikes near Beaufort Castle in southern Lebanon on Thursday, July 31st, 2026. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that they used 700 tonnes of explosives to demolish parts of a Hezbollah tunnel network in the region.

This military action comes after Israel agreed in June 2026 to a phased withdrawal from Lebanon, with plans for the Lebanese military to take responsibility for disarming Hezbollah.

The strikes highlight ongoing tensions in southern Lebanon involving Hezbollah and Israeli forces.
