Nexstar Media Group is set to host a live debate on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. EDT, featuring Republican candidates running for the South Carolina U.S. Senate seat vacated by the late Sen. Lindsey Graham. The debate will air on all Nexstar stations across South Carolina and be broadcast from the News 2 studios in Mount Pleasant, near Charleston.

Moderated by News 2’s Carolyn Murray and Queen City News’s Alicia Barnes, the forum will focus on key voter concerns such as economic growth, education, and healthcare. Invited candidates who met Nexstar’s debate criteria include Sen. Ralph Norman (R-S.C.) and Russell Fry (R-S.C.), a former lawmaker.

Sen. Lindsey Graham passed away earlier in July 2026 due to an aortic dissection after serving in the Senate since the late 2000s. South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster (R) will complete Graham’s current term.

Andrew Alford, president of Nexstar’s broadcasting division, emphasized the company’s commitment to local communities, stating, “Nexstar is pleased to offer this debate as a public service to the voters of South Carolina, just as we have done in several other states across the country.”
