Singapore police and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) have opened investigations after British trip-hop band Massive Attack expressed support for Palestinians at their concert on Wednesday, July 30, 2026. The band shouted "Free Palestine" during their performance at The Star Performing Arts Centre, prompting many audience members to join in the chant, according to a concertgoer who asked not to be identified.

Videos circulating online also show two band members holding a Palestinian flag on stage while the crowd cheered. Singapore law prohibits the public display of foreign national emblems without a permit or exemption. Offenders may face fines up to S$500 (US$390), imprisonment for up to six months, or both.

On Thursday, July 31, 2026, police and IMDA confirmed that reports were lodged and investigations are ongoing. IMDA is also investigating a possible breach of licence conditions related to the event. The Star Performing Arts Centre and the concert promoter, Lushington Entertainments, have been contacted for comment.
